A majority of Hispanic voters (57%) said they would vote for Vice President Kamala Harris in the final stages of the 2024 presidential election, while 39% said they would vote for former President Donald Trump, according to a survey released yesterday by the Pew Research Center.
Harris is doing significantly better among Latino voters than the presumptive Democratic nominee, President-elect Joe Biden.
The presidential approval rating among Latinos is similar to 2020, when Biden beat Trump 59% to 38% among Latinos who voted.
Despite the poll numbers favoring Harris, some caution remains for Democrats. Recent polls have shown that Latinos are leaning to the right, and some to the far right. In her new book, “Defectors,” journalist Paola Ramos documents “a quiet radicalization of Latinos that is happening in the open across the country.”
