Vota-Palooza music festival has confirmed dates for a U.S. tour in an effort to increase social inclusion among Gen Z Latinos and newcomers.
The festival, organized by Grita Canta Vota, will see musicians like Los Tucanes de Tijuana, Banda Los Recoditos and Grupo Control perform in cities including Charlotte, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Atlanta and Visalia.
“Using the power of music, we are changing the narrative and uplifting the Latino community, breaking down stigmas against voting and inspiring everyone to be active community leaders – voters and non-voters alike,” said Esau Torres, spokesperson and co-founder of Grita Canta Vota.
The Vota Palooza music festival will offer free admission to anyone who has verified their voter registration and who supports or volunteers with the Grita Canta Vota campaign.
The following is planned for each music festival venue:
• Install ballot drop boxes on-site where permitted by law.
• El Teatro Del Pueblo: A unique open space offering intimate entertainment and guest speakers.
• La Placita: A town square with a voter registration area and a community resource fair.
• El Mercadito: A curated food market featuring top local restaurants and food trucks.
• El Tianguis: a space filled with local arts and crafts shops.
• La Galeria: An art exhibition and creative hub showcasing work from popular local and nationally known Latino artists.
• La Cochera: A popular Latino celebration of car culture featuring an impressive car show.
