According to Direct Weather’s 2024-25 snowfall forecast, above-normal snowfall is expected in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Midwest and Pacific Northwest this winter. Below-normal snowfall is expected in the Southwest, with heavy snow possible along the East Coast.

Northeast (New England)
States: New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maine Above average snowfall is expected. In the East, New England is most likely to see above average snowfall.
Mid-Atlantic
States: Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia Above normal snowfall is expected across the region, including parts of the Ohio Valley where snowfall amounts may be higher.
Southeast
States: North Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky Snowfall is expected to be less than normal overall, but some areas in the north may see heavier amounts.
Midwest and Great Lakes
States: Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa Above normal snowfall is expected across much of the region, with the Great Lakes region likely to experience an active lake effect snow season.
Rocky Mountains
States: Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Montana Above-normal snowfall is likely in the Northwest Rockies. Above-normal snowfall is also expected in the Central and Southern Rockies, but uncertainty remains.
Pacific Northwest
States: Washington, Oregon There is a high probability of above average snowfall across the region.
Southwest
States: California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico Snowfall is expected to be below normal overall. Portions of Southern California, Nevada, and Arizona are at high risk for below normal snowfall.
