Chess.com is pleased to announce the second edition of Team Chess Battles. Starting October 7th, this humorous event will feature $10,000 in prizes and appearances by some of the biggest names in the world of chess.
The event continues in a fun format with teams of two playing the same game and having conversations. This format allows fans to gain unique insight into the greats’ thought processes and enjoy some top-notch trash talk.
This time, star content creators will team up and fight. Participants include IM Levy Rozman, WGM Nemo Zhou, and WFM Anna Cramling, three of the world’s biggest chess creators. Joining them are Calculator Man FM James Canty, Appeasing Con Man IM Eric Rosen, and legendary Grandmaster Pia Krumling. Other confirmed players include IM Danny Rensch, who is considered one of his worst teammates, IM John Bartholomew, Spanish duo GM Pepe Cuenca and IM David Martinez, and ChessDojo member IM Kostia. Kabutsky and David Pruss, among others.
The duo will battle against each other in a two-match single-elimination bracket with quick time management until they reach the finals. In the final, two teams will compete in a four-game series for a $3,500 prize. And most importantly, bragging rights.
