TAOS, N.M. (KRQE) – New service is coming to Taos Regional Airport, the town announced today, thanks to an $8.2 million grant awarded by the New Mexico Department of Transportation’s Aviation Division, as well as a $3.2 million allocation received earlier this year.
The planned schedule for winter flights from December 9, 2024 to March 31, 2025 is as follows:
Austin, TX (EDC) Dallas, TX (DAL) Los Angeles County/Burbank, CA (BUR) San Diego/Carlsbad, CA (CLD)
Flights to Denver, Colorado (BJC) will continue to operate year-round. Flights to Las Vegas will operate in October only.
Flights between Albuquerque and Angel Fire are expected to begin by 2025
“Families like mine will be able to fly in and out of Taos directly without having to drive long distances, and we’re pleased that the new flights will allow families to see their loved ones more often,” Airport Manager Colton Lapustin said in a news release. “It’s exciting for the Taos Regional Airport to offer travelers a new option to fly into this great town and give locals more ways to see their loved ones.”
The flights will be operated through air service partner JSX, according to the town. The total investment from the Regional Air Service Enhancement (RASE) program is $11.4 million. According to the town, RASE grant funding is made up of 90 percent from the state and 10 percent from local sources and is designed to support the opening of new routes.
