BEIJING — Most parts of China are expected to enjoy sunny skies during the week-long National Day holiday starting Oct. 1, according to forecasts.
Jia Xiaolong, deputy director of the National Climate Center, said at a press conference on Sunday that most regions will see clear skies during the holiday, except for rain and snow conditions in Qinghai, eastern Xizang Plateau and western Yunnan province.
The official said Typhoon Kraton is expected to bring heavy rain and storms to the coastal areas of eastern China’s Fujian and Zhejiang provinces, and China’s island of Taiwan is also bracing for heavy rain.
Jia said the frequent occurrence of cold fronts during the first three days of the holiday is expected to cause temperatures to drop in some areas, dropping below 0 degrees Celsius in some areas of northwestern, northern and northeastern China. He said that it has been done.
A cold front is also expected to hit northern China around October 6th. Travelers are advised to stay informed of weather forecasts and warnings and take appropriate precautions when planning their trips.
