A newly launched production company called Bridge7 has acquired the film and television rights to the Oscar-winning film Slumdog Millionaire.
A newly launched production company called Bridge7 has acquired the rights to the sequel film and television version of the Academy Award-winning film Slumdog Millionaire, The Hollywood Reporter has reported. (Also read: Danny Boyle’s new show is like an apology for Slumdog Millionaire)

The Los Angeles-based company is run by producer Swati Shetty and veteran CAA agent Grant Kesman. The rights were acquired from the UK-based company Celador, which produced and financed the 2008 hit film in collaboration with Film4.
About Slumdog Millionaire
Dev Patel and Freida Pinto played the lead roles in Danny Boyle’s Slumdog Millionaire. The film won eight Oscars, including Best Director and Best Picture.
The story revolves around Jamal (Patel), a poor boy from Mumbai, and his younger brother Salim, who meet a girl named Latika (Pinto). Anil Kapoor’s role as charismatic game show host Prem Kumar was one of the standout performances in the film.
The story depicts their struggles, including their journey to overcome hardships after losing their mother in a religious riot. The film also sees Jamal take part in India’s version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, where he wins Rs 25 million and impresses millions in the process.
What is the sequel about?

It transcends boundaries and embodies the kind of stories we love: stories that bridge entertainment and deep humanity,” Shetty and Kesman were quoted by The Hollywood Reporter. said in a statement.
Celador plans to collaborate with Bridge7 on an upcoming sequel. The deal was brokered by Patre Top in Los Angeles and Nick Miller of Simon Muirhead Burton in the UK, with Celador International represented by Jessica Hudson and James Kay of Sheridans in the UK. Ta.
