Sen. John Kennedy (R-Louisiana) has decisively dismissed celebrities who have criticized supporters of President-elect Donald Trump, insisting that these people have a right to their “stupid” opinions.
Mr. Kennedy’s comments come as actress Sharon Stone said that in the wake of Mr. Trump’s victory in the 2024 presidential election, voters realize that the United States is entering an era of “ignorant and arrogant adolescence.” It was announced shortly after the statement that it was necessary to do so. The Louisiana senator claimed that those who criticize Trump supporters are “idiots,” adding that they also hate many other people who are pivotal figures in U.S. history.
“They’re entitled to their opinion, but they’re just stupid,” Kennedy told Fox News’ Hannity. “They hate George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, Dr. Seuss, and Mr. Potato Head. They think our kids should be able to change gender at recess. They carry ziplock bags of kale for energy. For me, for each person, I feel like it’s more palatable to be fat. Now, these people have a right to their opinion, but it’s unfair morals. They think they are smarter and more virtuous than Americans.
Kennedy also argued that celebrities who dislike Trump do not see Trump supporters as “real people,” insisting that “we are real people.” He added that these people are “really angry” ahead of the 2024 election and have chosen to send a message “clearly and unequivocally.”
“And my message to all my friends and enemies in America is: Happy Thanksgiving and stay grieved, friends!” Kennedy said.
