Blessed Home Health Care of Oregon’s mission is to provide medical services to patients in the comfort and dignity of their own homes.
TOLEDO, Ohio — Certain medical conditions can keep some people in the hospital for weeks or even months at a time.
But Blessed Home Health Care Agency in Oregon brings care to patients’ homes, with the goal of keeping patients out of the hospital.
At just 58 years old, Toledo native Paula Davis is already battling chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
COPD is a common lung disease that causes airflow restriction and breathing problems.
In the past, this condition frequently resulted in Davis being confined to a hospital bed.
But after Blessed Home Health Care started coming to her home and providing care, Davis’ life became easier.
“They helped me set up a machine so I could breathe at night. Without that machine, I would have ended up in the hospital,” Davis said.
Blessed Home Health Care began operations in 2013. They say their mission is to allow clients to remain in their homes with dignity and comfort.
Heather Cimaglia, a registered nurse, is the clinical manager at Blessed Home Health Care Agency.
She said Davis has made remarkable progress since authorities began helping with his care.
“We’ve been keeping Paula out of the hospital since February, so we’re really proud of her amazing performance,” Cimaglia said.
Checking Davis’ blood pressure and oxygen levels are just some of the many tasks the nurse does.
One of Blessed Home’s main goals is to remove the burden of costs from families.
The Company serves low-income customers through the Medicaid Home Care Waiver Program.
We also provide qualified and skilled home health care services through Medicare and our patients’ private insurance.
“We handle all the insurance. We’re able to help people avoid going to facilities and hospitals and go home to their families. And for me, that’s really fulfilling and wonderful. That’s true,” Cimaglia said.
With help from Blessed Home, Davis was able to escape the hospital for almost eight months. This brought peace of mind not only to Davis but also to his family.
“It affected us in a positive way because my husband and I just had a relationship. We were speechless. We didn’t know what else to do with her or what else to do. I didn’t know what to do. And I feel better now about the last time because she’s getting the help she needs from Home Blessed,” said Christina Hall, Davis’ cousin. said.
Although Davis is still battling COPD, she says just having a caring staff member at home warms her heart.
“It’s heartwarming. And they make you feel warm, you know what I mean, like I said, they make you feel like family. They really Yes,” Davis said.
