ATLANTA — Unemployment rates increased in every local board in Georgia, according to the latest data from the Georgia Department of Labor.
Nearly every region saw rates increase by at least 0.5 percent from a year ago, GDOL reported.
“Innovation creates opportunity, and that’s exactly why Georgia has ranked number one in business for the 11th consecutive year,” Georgia Workforce Commission Chairman Bruce Thompson said in a statement. “With unemployment rates rising across the state over the past four months, it’s critical we double down on our efforts to put more Georgians to work, remove barriers to employment, and foster an environment in which Georgia businesses and families can thrive together.”
