Leading the way. This is really awesome. Forbes is taking Cincinnati by storm. The business magazine’s 2024 Under 30 Summit is bringing thousands of talented young people to Cincinnati this week. Right. So the goal is to get them to stay, expand their business and hopefully build it here. WLWT News Five anchor Ashley Kirklen checked out the first day of the summit. Hey, Ashley. Hey, guys. It was really cool to see our riverfront being used for something like this. The young entrepreneurs that I met are from all over – Phoenix, New York City, Los Angeles. They’re at the summit today and Forbes magazine invited them here to learn from the best minds in tech and business and also to see how Ohio can play a role in building the future of America. 3,000 of the top entrepreneurs, business minds and technology leaders in the country are coming to Cincinnati this week. Forbes 2024 Under 30 Summit is happening now. I love Forbes Under 30. Because the under 30s in our community are the future of America. These people are going to be running this country in every arena: business, sports, law, politics. They are going to be running this country for the next 50 years. Last night, the event kicked off with a concert featuring rapper Shaboozy and big-time producer Metro Boomin. This morning, Lt. Governor Jon Husted kicked off the summit. Kim Lauterbach, president and CEO of the Reds Cincinnati, called it the “Ohio Welcome Pitch.” Ohio’s economy is growing big time. We’re going to talk about new and exciting things happening in Ohio and why these people should consider making Ohio a place to grow their business. Carolina Lopez started a company called Bijou Skincare a few years ago and was invited by Forbes magazine to attend the summit to network and learn how to grow her business. First of all, I’m so excited to meet amazing people who are entrepreneurs who are educated and looking to change and capitalize on the world. And we’re looking to change and impact the world. Lauterbach says this is an opportunity for Ohio to reach a demographic it hasn’t been able to reach before. Ohio has long been thought of as a manufacturing state, and you can see that in the current state of life sciences, food and beverage, and aerospace. This is an opportunity for Ohio to not just shine in Cincinnati, but to show the growing and thriving economy and ecosystem that really needs to be noticed across the state. Forbes has been making Ohio its list for three years, starting with announcing it in Cleveland last year. This year, it will be here in Cincinnati, then wrap up in Columbus.
