Hamza Choudhury, Jan Dhanda, Zidan Iqbal and Qila Rai topped the list of winners at the 2024 Asian Football Awards held at Wembley Stadium.
Leicester City midfielder Choudhury, who was named Sports Personality of the Year at last week’s Asian Achievers Awards, has been announced as joint winner of the Men’s Player of the Year award alongside Hearts summer signing Dhanda.
Derby County winger Kira Rai won the Women’s Player of the Year award ahead of Nottingham Forest midfielder Millie Chandarana and OFI Crete attacker Aqsa Mustaq.
Yan Dhanda gave Ross County the perfect farewell after helping them maintain their Scottish Premiership status.
FC Utrecht midfielder and former Manchester United youngster Zidan Iqbal won the Young Player of the Year award, while Wigan first-team coach Shadab Iftikhar won the Coaches’ award.
Sky Sports News reporter Dharmesh Sheth hosted the ceremony at Wembley Stadium, where the FA Cup trophy was on display and this season’s British South Asian football team was also unveiled at the home of English football later that evening.
The annual joint team and XI celebrates the on-field contribution of British South Asians in football leagues around the world and has previously been showcased by top-tier and semi-professional clubs in the UK, including Brentford, Sporting Khalsa, Leicester City and Punjab United.

All finalists at the Asian Football Awards have been selected for the national team for 2023/24, with seven of them named in the starting XI.
