The National Weather Service predicts cooler fall weather with less rain next week in the Boston area.
“Rain is expected throughout the next week,” NWS meteorologist Matthew Belk said. “Temperatures are typically near or slightly above normal, especially if it’s hot. Really, the only chance we have for some showers in the greater Boston area is sometime, probably next weekend. It will be towards the end of the week.”
After continued rain and bitter cold in the Boston area, this week is expected to be relatively dry and mildly warm. The weather in Boston looks mostly cloudy for most of the week, but we’ll see more sun heading into next weekend.
“The normal high temperature in Boston this time of year is 69 degrees,” Berg said. “The normal low temperature is 54 degrees.”
According to the forecast, high temperatures will rise from the high 60s early in the week to the lows into the mid-70s Thursday and Friday. Lows will be in the low to mid 50s throughout the week.
According to the NWS, a light to variable breeze is expected, which could further cool down those looking to enjoy outdoor fall activities.
Belk said the entire Boston area “doesn’t look like a busy weather week at all.”
Berg said the effects of the hurricanes that hit the southern U.S. states last week are not being felt in the region.
“It’s pretty much disappeared in the Midwest,” Berg said. “And thanks to high pressure in southeastern Canada, all the rain is being diverted southward.”
